The Story Behind the Riff…
Aerosmith’s huge hit, Walk This Way, continues to be one of the riffs that everyone wants to learn.
According to Joe the riff for “Walk this Way” came about during a soundcheck in Hawaii. The riff was inspired by a band from New Orleans called The Meters. The song was first recorded by the band at the record plant in New York in early 1975. According to Perry, the riff and the solos were played on a Fender Strat and the rhythm track was played with a ’68 Les Paul.
